Course Description

This course is focused on teaching students to develop the skills and confidence required to operate a weapon system in a reduced light environment.

• Why low light training is important • Low light equipment selection • Use of a handheld light in conjunction of a pistol • Handheld and weapon mounted light deployment techniques • ID and engaging targets while using a handheld light • Moving/shooting with a light

Equipment List

  • Handgun
  • An Inside or Outside the waistband holster for appendix, 3 or 4 o’clock. The holster must stay open when the gun is not in the holster, kydex or high quality leather, no nylon soft holsters. Holsters must be approved by the instructor at the beginning of class. NO serpa style holsters allowed.
  • Handheld flashlight with fresh batteries and replacements
  • Magazine carriers
  • Belt to support holster and magazine carrier
  • At least 3 magazines
  • Ear/eye pro
  • Ball cap
  • Range suitable clothing, water

Prerequisites

This is an intermediate level class. Students must have a CCW permit and proof of said permit before being allowed to attend class.  The student needs to know and be able to demonstrate safe gun handling, weapon system familiarity, marksmanship skills, and working from a holster.  Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training.
